At around 10am, HAMPSTEAD TOWN SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS TEAM was joined by HIGHGATE SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS TEAM for mobile patrols.
The teams were looking out for suspicious mopeds, anti-social driving and those who may be involved in the recent increase in mobile phone snatches.
During the patrol, a moped rider was stopped in HAMPSTEAD TOWN and later arrested on suspicion of an immigration offence.
However, there was one small problem. The rider was carrying a Deliveroo order, and somewhere nearby, a hungry customer was patiently waiting for their food.
As the rider was taken into custody, an officer kindly completed the delivery instead.
The customer opened the door expecting a Deliveroo rider but was surprised to find a police officer standing there holding their meal. It was definitely not the delivery update they were expecting!
ARREST MADE. Food status: MEAL Delivered.
